How to be saved

First, know that God loves you. What's more, He likes you. In fact, the God and Creator of the every atom and galaxy in the universe is wildly crazy about you. He desires a personal, intimate relationship with you.

Second, know that there is a problem. The problem is sin. Sin can be defined as anything short of perfection. Anytime that you have not measured up to God's highest holy standard, you have sinned. God has given us instructions in the Bible of some things we should do and some things we should not do, and the truth is that we have all blown it. However, this sin is no small matter. Just as a judge would not allow criminals to go unpunished, God, because He is perfectly just, says that sin comes with a severe punishment. That punishment is eternal separation from Him in a horrible place that is called Hell.

Third, and this is the good part, know that there is a solution. Because of God's deep love for us, He provided a way to Him for those who would recieve it. That way is Jesus, God the Son. Jesus' brutal death on the cross paid the debt and served as the penalty for sin. What's more, after three days dead and buried, Jesus showed that He alone has power over death by raising Himself from the dead. In order to partake in this forgiveness, God tells us that we must repent of our sin. This means simply to agree with Him that we have fallen short, ask His forgiveness through Jesus' sacrifice, and to earnestly seek to put Him in charge of our lives from now on.

According to the Bible, the words of God, this is the only way to be sure of your salvation. What will you choose?
